In the segment of luxury beds, horsehair belongs to the best materials used for their production. Horsehair has excellent absorption and ventilation properties as well as durability. Among other things, they draw the excess moisture and heat away from the body, which gives a perfect temperature. Horse hair also has a springy effect, which together with our pocket springs, provides exceptional comfort and depth in the bed.

Cashmere is used in selected Saffron beds in the upper layers of mattresses and toppers, giving the user the feeling of exclusive softness, while ensuring an optimum temperature during sleep all year round, it insulates when it´s cold and has a cooling effect when it´s hot. Cashmere has some unique hollow and smooth fibers, as it comes from the Kashmir region in the Mongolian mountains, where the temperature can vary between -50 degrees in winter and +40 degrees in summer. These properties have made Cashmere one of the most exclusive and sough after wools in the world.

Sheep wool has properties that cannot be replaced by any other natural material. Wool naturally repels moths and mites and functions as a perfect natural air conditioning – it cools down in the summer and warms up in the winter. It is soft and has a great elasticity that benefits the comfort in the bed. It is resistant to both water and dirt. Wool also has fire retardant and self cleaning properties, which helps to make it antibacterial. That is why we also use wool in all our beds and mattress toppers.

One of the main materials for the production of Saffron beds is cotton. It is used for its ability to ventilate and transport excessive heat and moisture away. The layers of specially combed cotton cover horsehair and springs create a nice and soft feeling upon every touch.

Wood from the hand selected nordic pine constitutes a basic building block for bed construction. The hand selected nordic pine grows very slowly in the cool Scandinavian environment, which gives it the right firmness and resilience, this fit perfectly with the requirements we set, therefore we also offer a 30 year guarantee on our bed frames.

Saffron uses quality steel springs in our beds. Each spring is placed separately in its own little fabric bags, so that every spring may move independently of each other. Only this way can we produce the most flexible and comfortable bed which is soft on the surface, while providing for a perfect support for the body. Our beds have a minimum of two layers og springs, some have as many as four layers working together. All together to create a bed that hugs the body and provides the most unique comfort when you lie in the bed. We give 30 year guarantee on our springs.

By gently distributing lavender seeds by hand amidst the layers of the mattress topper and bed, a subtle touch of fragrance can be optionally introduced. This infusion of lavender imparts a pleasant scent, accompanied by several beneficial properties.
